Burnley woman named North West Entrepreneur of Year

A BURNLEY business woman has been named North West Entrepreneur of the Year at an awards evening to celebrate new business ventures.

Sally O’Donnell owns QHS Solutions, a health and safety auditing and training service, and was selected from more than 200 new entrepreneurs in the North West to win the title and a £1,000 prize.

She was presented with her award at the New Entrepreneur Scholarship graduation evening at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston.

Mrs O’Donnell completed the course at UCLan and was chosen as the winner against a shortlist of other new business ventures from Cumbria, Merseyside and Manchester.

She said: “I’m over the moon. I was completely taken aback when they announced me as the winner. I’ve been trading for 18 months and my business has grown so much I now employ three people. Taking part in the NES programme has taught me a lot and has been a great way of networking.”

Mrs O’Donnell’s business has moved to a new home in Queen’s Park Lodge in Ormerod Road. She has now been shortlisted to be crowned Entrepreneur of the Year in a national award and is up against other regional winners from across the country.
