Mind Spa

OK so the UK has seen its fair share of gyms and health clubs sweeping the nation, they have absolutely everything in them from swimming pools, spa’s, weights, aerobics, keep fit, step, martial arts and even herbal treatments, hey even bars!

But here is a new business concept that is currently taking the states by storm, MyInergy. Its all to do with the mind, body and spirit. Opened in October 2005, the spa is the testing ground for his theory that consumers will pay big bucks to beat stress, lose their bad habits and build self-esteem through Inergy’s simple, proprietary programs. Besides the 20-minute “mind spa,” which offers pre-programmed therapies or an invigorating power nap, Inergy sells a range of three- to nine-month programs. No diets, no formulas, no herbs: Inergy combines a form of hypnotherapy with neurolinguistic programming—the emerging science of changing behaviour by planting attitude-shifting ideas into your head while you’re in an open-minded, trance-like state—to help customers lose weight, quit smoking, sleep better or overcome pain and depression. At £260 to £1,577, the programs are priced below the cost of most gym memberships or self-help programs run by competitors such as L A Weight Loss Centers.

Imagine it, you have had a bad day at the office, maybe no sales or something, you are driving home but before you get there you drop into a MyInergy centre, slip into a small quiet room with soothing lights, slip on a iPod with relaxing music and a soft voice talking you out of your stress state in to a positive trance while lying in a huge leather chair.

20 minutes later and £10, you feel like a new person and can’t wait to get to work tomorrow. Ok it might not work for us all but how many people can really relax after going to the gym? In fact out of how many still go to the gym?

There maybe gyms in the UK that already offer this but i think a fresh independent chain would be more attractive.
