A major recruitment drive is underway to find 20 individuals who are passionate about using business for social and environmental change – and who can inspire others to feel the same. The position will be working along side Tim Campbell (The Apprentice), founder of the Big Issue John Bird, and CEO of Cafedirect Penny Newman – and a further twenty are now required.

The Ambassadors are a key part of the Social Enterprise Action Plan, which was launched last year by Gordon Brown.

They will be expected to commit to around 12 days a year for the next three years. Their duties will include speaking to the media, attending events, inspiring new entrants to the sector and winning over key professionals.

Application packs for those wishing to become ambassadors can be downloaded from the Coalition’s website www.socialenterprise.org.uk
