My fellow blogger over at Business Opportunities and Ideas blogged back in November 2008 about How To Make A Million Pounds. See his original article here.

In a nutshell Jon broke down the math:

£1M = P x S

Where £1M is your target earnings, P is the profit you make on each sale and S is the number of sales you need to make make. If we use the formula we can work out some numbers:

Profit Per Sale Number You Need To Sell
£1 1,000,000
£10 100,000
£100 10,000
£1,000 1,000
£10,000 100

So if, for example, you make £100 profit on a sale you just need to make 10,000 sales.

Then a 28 year old teacher from the UK Chrissi Sharkey read the article and saw not just how simple the concept is, but that it presents a business opportunity too. She has developed a Internet meme/concept called aMillionJobsToDo.com

The concept

Simply – a million jobs for £1 each would giver her £1 million. She will do anything from face painting to personal shopping, writing Christmas cards to painting. She has already brought in £3293.28 so far!

I really do think this concept has mileage but its a huge task – 1 million jobs! Look at it weekly:

1,000,000 Days divided by 7 = 142,857.14 weeks!!!!

It needs to have a time line e.g. 18 months etc and maybe you could appeal to businesses aswell? I will follow this with interest and also how long until the copycat sites turn up????
