Christian entrepreneurs - S. Truett Cathy
In seventh place is S. Truett Cathy, whose Chic-fil-A restaurant chain started as a small southern diner in 1946 and has grown to become one of the top fast food franchises in the world. Total revenues for the last year exceed $1.5 billion, and the chain now has over 1,000 restaurants worldwide. A long time outspoken Christian, Chic-fil-A’s founder and chairman is one of the most recognizable Christian businessmen alive today, keeping his stores closed on Sundays and donating large sums of money to numerous Christian charities.
Cathy has written numerous books about business, faith, family and giving back to the community. He writes, “Nearly every moment of every day we have the opportunity to give something to someone else-our time, our love, our resources. I have always found more joy in giving when I did not expect anything in return.” His business deals mostly with breasts and thighs, but for Cathy, the heart is what truly matters.
